Accessibility | Arknor commitment to a site usable by all

Every adventure enthusiast should have easy access to our products and services.

Whatever your needs or abilities, we are committed to making our site clear, simple and usable for everyone.

Because every user is unique, we strive to provide an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone.

Our commitment

Arknor aims for WCAG 2.2 - level AA compliance for the entire site (excluding integrated third-party content). This page follows the logic of the recommended accessibility statement in France ( RGAA ) and aligns with the European requirements EN 301 549. Beyond the standards, the priority remains simple: an interface usable by all, in various conditions, without depending on a specific configuration.

Accessibility features implemented

  • Fully functional keyboard navigation (logical order, pitfalls avoided), visible focus and markers in the tree structure.
  • Descriptive alternative ( alt ) texts for each image carrying real information; decorative images ignored by screen readers.
  • Contrasts tested and calibrated to ensure readability, including in eye fatigue or low light.
  • Hierarchical semantic HTML structure (headings, regions, navigation areas, main content) ARIA compatible.
  • Zoom 200% without loss of readability or break in layout.
  • Verified compatibility with screen readers and technical aids (VoiceOver, NVDA, voice navigation, external commands).
  • Interactive components (menus, accordions, modals) controlled by keyboard with ARIA states ( aria-expanded , aria-controls ...).

Scope, method and test environments

Scope audited : Home, Categories/Collections, Product sheets, Shopping cart, information pages (Terms and Conditions, Accessibility), guides. (The payment/Checkout process is operated by Shopify and follows its own accessibility constraints.)

Methodology : iterative internal audit on a representative sample, combining manual and tool-based tests.

  • Tools : DevTools/WAVE axis, Lighthouse, contrast analysis, ARIA inspection, keyboard tests.
  • Screen readers & browsers : VoiceOver (Safari iOS 17), NVDA 2024 (Firefox 128/Windows 11), Chrome 126 (Android 14).

Compliance Status (Self-Assessment)

Partial compliance as of the publication date. The main identified deviations are the subject of a prioritized action plan (below) and documented follow-up. Next full review: November 2025 .

Non-conformities and action plan

The accessibility approach is active, structured, and ongoing. The following points are monitored and planned:

Difference observed Action Target deadline Status
Some decorative images without explicit alt="" Automatic theme-side normalization + content review +30 days Planned
Historical videos without transcript/subtitles Added mountain bike subtitles + transcription +60 days In progress
Customizing contrasts (dark mode) Set up prefers-color-scheme + toggle button +90 days To do

Support and contact

If you have difficulty accessing a page, content, or feature, support is available. You will receive a response within 5 business days with a suitable solution (alternative version, direct response, additional documentation, navigation assistance).

Each report is recorded, analyzed and integrated into the continuous improvement cycle.

Remedies

If, after reporting, the response received is not satisfactory, it is possible to contact the Defender of Rights (France): online form, regional delegate, or free mail: “Defender of Rights, Free response 71120, 75342 Paris CEDEX 07”.

Why this commitment?

Designing reliable equipment means making it usable by everyone, under all conditions. On a merchant site, accessibility isn't a constraint: it's the continuation of a requirement for robustness, readability, and efficiency to ensure a seamless shopping experience, including for users of assistive technologies.

Assessment and compliance

The site is subject to regular internal audits aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA (W3C/WAI standards) and inspired by RGAA / EN 301 549 requirements. Each detected non-conformity is documented, prioritized and corrected according to a standardized process. The objective is to achieve and then maintain sustainable, measurable and transparent conformity.
